My name is Carmen Elisa, I'm born in Colombia and raised in the NL. My first language is English but I also speak Dutch if that is more comfortable for you. When I started on Pawshake I was in between school and work so very flexible during the say. However, I now have a fulltime job (yay!) which makes it a little more difficult to petsit throughout the week. I'm still open to 1x home visits because I can go in the evening and during the weekend I can always try to make time. Shoot me a message and we can discuss what works for both of us!
Growing up we had a lovely kooikerhondje and ever since she passed in 2016 I have dedicated a lot of my free time getting to know new breeds and how to best handle their behavior. Right now I am very in love with the Bernese Mountain dog and Yakutian Laika. At the moment I do not have space for a dog in my house which is why I am trying to find as many opportunities as possible to hang out with pets.
About my experience with pets (aside from growing up with one): I volunteer at an animal shelter since 2021 which means that I often clean the kennels of dogs and the palace of the cats and take them for walks (the dogs, not the cats ;)).
I have also on multiple occasions taken care of dogs for longer periods, for example a very stubborn ridgback. I would stay in the house, keep it tidy and clean, take the dogs for walks and play and cuddle with them. I hope this shows you why you can trust me with your pet :)! I do quite a lot of sports so am quite capable of taking care of bigger dogs as I also do this at the shelter. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask me!
