Pet-Island is open!
Zaandam
Over Nick+LiLi
Hoi!
We are Nick and Lili, we live on an peaceful island on the border of Zaandam, nearby Amsterdam, we love all animals, as you can see in the picture, there's a fun "fauna" here already! But we miss having dogs around..
We decided to care for dogs mostly because we don't have our own pet at the moment, as we both travel often to France and Brazil to visit our families.
As we both work from home, we have lots of time and love for our guests, plus, it's a great way to "test-drive" all types of doggies!
As for 'dogiculum', we both have had dogs for as long as we have been alive:
Nick didn't have a dog in Amsterdam, as living in a small apartment didn't seem fair for the animals (small space); Also, being brought up in France and Spain, where the family dogs (mostly Setters) had lots of
space, so moving to Zaandam made it again possible.
Lili also was brought up with dogs in Brazil, mostly rescue dogs, caring for them from a difficult life into a loving family. Lili is a doctor, so your pets should be safe here! :D
So we have experience with crazy-time race dogs, but also fragile rescue and mutts of all kinds.
Since moving to 'ze island', we've taken a few pets from friends and it was always with regret that the doggies left our place...
.The island has 3 main buildings, no stairs, and a big 'foresty garden' in the back super super clean air from the Zaanse Schans.
.The dogs sleep together in what we call the 'dawg-villa', as our friends have left their pet here before :)
.They have a fenced area for playing outside when it's sunny, otherwise they can be with us when we are working in the other 2 buildings, the main house and the studio. They are welcome anywhere as long as they are behaved ;)
.Walks are included in the price, at least once a day, for more or longer walks, we can arrange this as extra's. Extra's can include: inside only (the house), special diets, constant supervision, longer playtimes, etc..
.No aggressive/territorial dogs, as they can pose problems with other dogs and our 'local fauna'. Females in heat depending on the other "roommates". And (trained) puppies from 9 months and older are ok!
We speak Dutch, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese in both human and dog language ;)
Hope to see you soon at our Pet-Island :)
Nick & Lili.
