about us 👫
We're Clara & Axel, on Pawshake since 2017. If you leave your pet in our care, you can be sure that they will be loved, cuddled, treated kindly, and cared for dearly. And of course, have lots of fun!

I (Clara) have a remote job in marketing. Next to that, I volunteer at the animal shelter once per week. But in case your dog can't stay alone, I can change it. Axel works as a chef in a vegan restaurant in Amsterdam.

experience 🐕🦮🐕‍🦺
I grew up with dogs and always had a large dog around the house (Husky, Rottweiler, Akita, German Shepherd). When I moved out I couldn’t stand not having pets around, which is why I started pet sitting. I have since taken care of many sweet cats and dogs that are all still very dear to me 💕 Over the years, I've gained experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities.

Axel grew up with two cats and has been pet sitting with me since 2020. He also loves pets of all shapes and sizes :)

our place 🏠
We live in Amsterdam West near Erasmuspark (with Westerpark and Rembrandtpark closeby aswell). We have a lovely, cozy apartment with a balcony. Your pet is allowed to roam around as they please. They are allowed on the furniture (sofa, bed, etc) if you allow it at home. Please note that we can only take in dogs that are house-trained and accustomed to living in an apartment. Our place is just a few minutes walking distance from parks, which is perfect for long walks and adventures. We also love to explore other parks and neighborhoods and take trips to the forest and the beach.

routine 🕐
We mostly work from home. I usually go to the office a couple of times per week but can always stay home if needed (or take a dog to the office). This way we are able to adjust to dogs that don't like to be alone. When dogsitting, we go for 3-4 walks daily. Of course this can be adjusted according to your pet's needs. We have pretty flexible schedules, so if your pet likes to stick to a routine, we can definitely make that happen.

requests 💌
When sending your initial request, please include as much information about your pet as possible. Especially for dogs, it is important for me to know if they get along well with other dogs, what kind of routine they are used to with walking and feeding, and their breed and age.

House visit - will stay 30 - 60 minutes to look after your pet, play and keep them company for a while - could be longer or shorter depending on your pet‘s needs. Dog walks are around 60 minutes (or as desired).

House sitting - If you'd like your four pawed friends to stay in their familiar environment we (or one of us) can stay overnight at your place. No need to make it extra tidy for us, as long as there's a pet to cuddle we will enjoy ourselves :). Also happy to water your plants etc.

Pick up/ drop off - Can be possible, depending on your location.

Play dates - If you have a dog that is well socialized and you'd like for him/her to have a playdate, we can organize for multiple dogs to come together. For longer stays we sometimes have two dogs stay together (if we can be sure they will get along and both owners agree). Some wonderful pet friendships have flourished from that!
