Over Yona Deniz
Hi, my name is Yona Deniz Akdoğan Nahmiyas. This is my first year in Amsterdam, I am 18 years old, and I am studying International Business at Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
For about five years, I had a black Pug, and before that, we had various pets like birds, ducks, turtles, and fish at home. My love for animals started at a very young age, and having a variety of pets helped me understand their needs and behaviors better.
Throughout my high school years, I always tried to help stray and neglected dogs. Every weekend, I made it a point to bring blankets and food to the dogs on the streets, which allowed me to feel very close to them. This routine became a significant part of my life, and I deeply enjoyed the connection I formed with these animals. I would often find myself spending hours with them, ensuring they were well-fed and comfortable.
I always took the dogs I helped to green and forested areas, where I let them run freely and walked with them. These outings were not only beneficial for the dogs but also for me, as they provided a sense of fulfillment and joy.
My motivation for becoming a pet sitter is that, I think being a pet sitter in my first year in Amsterdam is a perfect opportunity to get used to the city. I believe that spending time with pets will help me explore different parts of the city and also an enjoyable time for the dogs. At the same time, doing an activity that I enjoy and that will be beneficial for both sides excites me a lot.
